While doing some research, I may have stumbled across a formula for Dr. Pepper, though there is no mention of Pepper in the formula name. Now, I can’t be 100% sure until I make the formula and test it, but looking at the ingredients, it fits the flavour profile. Also, there just happens to be 23 ingredients, which is an often-stated reference to the recipe/formula.
This has been a much-requested recipe, so I’ll try to fast-track it, but it has some difficult-to-get ingredients. One ingredient, amyl formate/isoamyl formate, I may actually need to make myself. It is a simple ester, so there may be a video on how to make your own esters prior to this video. If you hear mentions about prune flavour in Dr. Pepper, isoamyl formate is noted to have plum flavour, so that is one of the indicators.
Some other ingredients will probably take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive, so expect me to start working on this in early April. I’ll need to create the formula and age it for a week or more, as per the instructions.
